It’s 6 p.m, and I am exhausted. I haven’t done much today, but I feel like I ran across the world. My chest is in pain and I can hardly get a breath in. I’ve done all I can, but nothing helped much. My mom is screaming at me for no reason. She swears I’m faking it. Ugh yeah I wish! So I’m hooked on my oxygen and I shall nap. Ha

I was asked once, “If you could tell the world one thing about Cystic Fibrosis, what would it be?” And it is this. That CF hurts. It hurts physically when it feels like sandpaper is scraping your lungs with every breath. It hurts mentally to plan for and get excited about a life you may never lead. It hurts to fall in love because CF can be an extraordinary burden on anyone who is not meant to deal with it, most times resulting in rejection and loneliness. It hurts to watch dozens of friends lose this fight that they never deserved or asked for. But most of all, it would hurt to not have been blessed with the chance to experience life through a CFer’s eyes: No love is half-given, no day is not lived to its fullest and NOTHING is ever taken for granted.
If this doesn’t get across the extremity of CF, I don’t know what will.

I just recently did a shoot for my finals of my friend. I had each picture showing a characteristic of Cystic Fibrosis (in which both her and I have). This one was my favorite. The rest can be seen on my Flickr or Blogspot.

Throwback!! The Fritz performing at The Red Benefit 3!
Everyone, this is Jaime. Jaime is the whole reason behind The Red Benefit. She was my cousin, and we lost her to Cystic Fibrosis at a very young age, too young. Since then, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made some incredible steps for furthering the lives of those living with CF. Having my background and resources, I knew I could do something to help; so five years ago we began The Red Benefit. We have donated thousands of dollars to the CFF in the last five years, all while listening to great music and exposing some great artists <3
